History
In July 2006
Steve Kidd (Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Mastermind, University Challenge, Weakest Link, I'm the Answer, Come and have a Go) set out on a mission to create a Quiz League in Leeds - Things were looking good! As Steve had sponsered the 5 towns Quiz League, he thought it would be sensible to use the questions that had already been set, and introduce his hometown, Leeds to the fascinating world of Quiz leagues.

A great response from Pub landlords indicates that there will be more than one league formed, several landlords asking if they can enter more than one team. Steve & Diane Hallagan are appearing on Radio Leeds at 4:00 PM on August 2nd 2006, being interviewed by Bob Walmsley
The Web site seems to be up nicely, can't wait to get lots of team pages up

After a trawl round Sherburn in Elmet, Barwick in Elmet, and that area to the East of Leeds, it seems like there will be one league bounded by the A64 to the North and A63 to the south. This would be great as away games would only involve travelling a maximum of five miles. There are some lovely villages here, and they are worth exploring. Shame about the M1 extention though.

External pressures meant that a start in 2007 had to be put on hold, nevertheless, The Gaping Goose at Garforth were introduced by Steve to the Five Towns Quiz league and enjoyed a great opening season
2007 May 24th
Spring sprung, The Five Towns Quiz League once again finished with a Leeds team (Radio 4 Masterteam, The Parksiders, featuring Diane Hallagan, Barry Simmons, Lee Warburton & Don Purdie) dominating both League and Cup for the umpteenth year running. Five of Steve's team made it on to Millionaire and Steve cycled to Turkey on a fold up bicycle (Using a train only 99.9% of the time). Today is a good day to update the web pages and set the league up for next season.
